Country Manager - South Africa

Canva Canva · Enterprise · Johannesburg, South Africa · Management

Canva is seeking a Country Manager for South Africa to own the company's growth, brand, and partnerships in the market. This player-coach role is responsible for user growth (MAU) and revenue (ARR), and will involve building and executing a country strategy, leading partnerships, localizing the Canva experience, and managing a local team. The role requires experience in market building, partnerships, commercial acumen, and people leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own market growth end‑to‑end. Act as the founder of Canva South Africa, setting and delivering ambitious MAU and ARR growth targets.
  2. Plant seeds. Build out our expansion plans for our South Africa frontier markets - Nigeria and Kenya.
  3. Build and execute the country strategy. Develop a clear multi‑year plan grounded in local user insight, market dynamics and Canva’s global priorities.
  4. Lead partnerships. Identify, build and activate high‑impact partnerships across education institutions, government bodies, enterprise, NGOs, creators and platforms. Turn partnerships into measurable growth levers, not logos.
  5. Localise the Canva experience. Work with local and global teams to adapt product, content, pricing and packaging to local needs, cultures and use cases.
