Coupling Assembler - 3rd Shift

This role is for a Coupling Assembler at Caterpillar, responsible for performing assembly processes using machines and hand tools to create finished coupling assemblies. The job involves identifying tooling, following procedures, performing assembly and sub-assembly, inspecting parts, maintaining records, and ensuring quality standards are met. It also includes training other operators, performing preventative maintenance, and working safely in a manufacturing environment. Basic qualifications include blueprint reading and use of precision measuring equipment, with strong communication and computer skills being preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and/or hand tools to complete the assembly and /or sub-assembly of component parts to achieve a finished coupling assembly.
  2. Identify tooling and equipment necessary to perform assigned operation
  3. Follow start up and shut down procedures on all equipment, monitor and adjust equipment as necessary and record same
  4. Perform various assembly or sub-assembly processes including but not limited to ringing, naming, and hand assembly.
  5. Ensure that all quality standards are met by visually inspecting work and/or with measuring devices
