This role focuses on designing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products, specifically CPU logic design with an emphasis on micro-architecture and RTL design. The role is within the ML, Systems, and Cloud AI (MSCA) organization, which designs hardware and software infrastructure for Google services and Google Cloud, including AI platforms like Vertex AI. However, the core responsibilities are in hardware engineering, not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to CPU front-end designs, emphasizing micro-architecture and RTL design for next generation CPU.
  2. Propose performance enhancing micro-architecture features with efficiency in mind. Work with architects and performance teams for trade-off studies.
  3. Deliver designs that meet power, performance, and area (PPA) goals with production quality.
  4. Interpret techniques into design constructs and languages in order to provide guidance to and participate in the performance modeling effort.
