Manager of Credit Risk Strategy team at Stripe, responsible for managing end-to-end credit risk for large and complex users. What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a Specialized Team: Coach and mentor a world-class team of commercial underwriters and Credit Strategists. You’ll be responsible for their professional growth and for fostering a culture of rigorous, data-driven credit judgment.
  2. Own the E2E Credit Risk Lifecycle: Oversee the team’s execution across all critical decision points—from high-stakes New User Onboarding and Contract Negotiations to Reactive Stress Reviews and Loss Recovery.
  3. Strategic Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a key advisor to Sales, Risk Strategy, Risk Policy and Bank Partners. You will navigate complex Bank Concurrences and Waivers, ensuring our risk appetite aligns with both internal goals and external partner requirements.
  4. Drive Operational Excellence: Work closely with our Credit Ops and SDC teams to implement efficient and effective review processes while providing constructive feedback to improve procedures. You will identify gaps in our current processes and build the organizational infrastructure needed to support Stripe’s evolving product suite.
  5. High-Stakes Decisioning: Serve as an escalation point for ad-hoc credit reviews and referrals, making informed judgments on Stripe’s largest and riskiest users during volatile market conditions or incidents.
