This role is for a Critical Environment Technician responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure in Microsoft's datacenters. Responsibilities include monitoring, inspection, maintenance of facility equipment (HVAC, mechanical systems), troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and security requirements are met. The role requires a high school diploma and a Polish SEP-certified electrician's license.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform assigned basic tasks (e.g., making rounds, recording building observations, taking measurements) with varying levels of supervision.
  2. Under varying levels of supervision, you will perform basic monitoring and inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning [HVAC], mechanical systems), building, and grounds for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  3. Learn how to operate all systems and equipment in a safe and professional manner and learn about all risks associated with these systems.
  4. Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track all equipment assets and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
  5. Safely assist in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision following emergency operating procedures (EOPs).

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Polish SEP-certified electrician's license (type E)
  • Ability to work shifts, including non-standard business hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements
