Critical Environment Technician Manager (night Shift)

This role manages a team of technicians responsible for the operations and maintenance of critical environment systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, generators) within Microsoft's data centers. The manager ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of these facilities, which support Microsoft's cloud services like Azure, Office 365, and Xbox. Responsibilities include people management, overseeing equipment maintenance and repairs, incident response, and ensuring adherence to safety and security protocols.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
  2. Serve as an operations specialist one or more major area of operations (e.g., electrical, mechanical, controls, generators, and work on advanced tasks independently.
  3. Guide, oversee, and perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs following methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for one or more disciplines and one or more types of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, cooling systems) and escalate when appropriate.
  4. Understands, follows, ensures, and coaches team on safety and security requirements (e.g., job hazard assessments [JHAs], toolbox talks), and business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and Microsoft requirements.
