This role focuses on creating crowd simulations for CG scenes using Houdini and proprietary software, managing motions, developing workflows, and ensuring visual diversity within crowds for VFX and animated feature films. It requires strong Houdini skills, problem-solving abilities, understanding of cinematic principles, and experience with motion capture.

What you'd actually do

  1. Choreograph the motion and behaviour of crowds in shots, meeting the artistic direction of the show supervisor.
  2. Manage the motions and cycles used on your show, including creating blending cycles.
  3. Assist in developing efficient workflows within Houdini, including creating and modifying internal HDAs.
  4. Creatively use existing motion and character variations to create visual diversity within a crowd.
  5. Troubleshoot technical issues within Houdini and the wider pipeline.
