What you'd actually do

  1. Perform bringing up support, as well as debugging on internal and external reference and production designs, and provide solutions to customers
  2. Engage directly on key technical topics, issues, architecture discussions, and performance optimizations with customers and internal teams and steer of multi-party discussion to convergence
  3. Analytic ability to address technical issues and generate creative solutions
  4. On-site support to speed up issue closure to meet overall project schedule
  5. Drive product platform debug efforts to identify root cause and resolution of AMD's Server SoC

Skills

Required

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering (or relative engineering fields)
  • 15+ years of server product development experience
  • Extensive hands-on experiences in Hardware/Software platform design and system architecture
  • Experience in working directly with customers and enabling them to production
  • Leading collaborative technical discussions
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Drive product platform debug efforts
  • Experience of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers
  • Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Shell, ...)
  • Working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server)
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to have

  • Working on PCIe/Memory/CPU/Power Management/Platform and System Debug/RAS related failures
  • Collaboration with AMD global teams
  • Providing design and debug recommendations
  • Utilizing scopes and/or protocol analyzers and/or JTAG debug tools
  • Working experience with computer hardware architecture (CPU/APU/GPU, x86, pcie, memory, bus logic)
  • Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture
  • Debug skills at both SoC and system level
  • Experience of post silicon validation methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of x86 micro architecture and RAS (reliability, Availability and Serviceability)
  • Self-organizing and the ability multitask based on priorities
