Customer Marketing Manager

Asana Asana · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA · Marketing

This role focuses on customer marketing and advocacy programs to leverage customer insights and engagement for Asana's go-to-market strategy. The primary goal is to activate customer advocates and build an engine for repeatable, scalable input across marketing efforts. Key responsibilities include managing programs like the Work Innovation Awards, operationalizing an Advocate Matching System, developing customer engagement strategies, driving customer content for events, executing vertical and sales play activations, and scaling downstream content production. The role requires experience in marketing or advocacy, a strategic understanding of the advocate journey, and an AI-first mindset for designing automated workflows. While not directly building AI models, the role utilizes AI tools and focuses on AI-native work management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage the Work Innovation Awards end-to-end: Launch programming, manage a year-round nomination pipeline, coordinate judging, and lead winner activation into downstream GTM moments while building post-award assets across campaigns, content, social, and events.
  2. Operationalize an Advocate Matching System: Drive the infrastructure that systematically connects GTM needs with qualified advocates based on their role, use case, and journey stage.
  3. Develop strategic customer engagement and sourcing: Act as a primary liaison between customers and the marketing organization, sourcing the right customers for the right engagement opportunities.
  4. Drive marquee event customer content: Oversee the customer speaker pipeline for the Work Innovation Summit events, focused on delivering customer-first, product-led sessions.
  5. Execute vertical and sales play activation: Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Marketing to deploy customer voices that unblock specific industries, such as healthcare or financial services, and validate our leadership in AI-native work management.
