Customs Analyst II

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Customs Analyst II in Juarez City, Mexico. This role involves preparing import/export reports, coordinating documentation, representing the company in customs matters, ensuring compliance with Mexican and US regulations, analyzing customs laws, managing import/export balances, ensuring permits and licenses are current, and analyzing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for product origin. The position also requires managing FDA codes, loading FDA data into the Customs System, requesting Chain of Custody letters, updating and auditing the Customs System, and ensuring the timely flow of new product lines and transfers. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, 2-4 years of experience, knowledge of US/Mexico Customs Laws and Regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prepares Import/Export reports to comply with Mexico and US regulations and internal needs.
  2. Coordinate the general documentation for import-export, to comply with the Legal requirements for Mexico and US Customs.
  3. Represents the Company in all Customs matters related to Mexico Customs and other Government agencies in Mexico.
  4. Ensures and anticipates compliance of Mexico Government requirements/Review changes and analyzes impact related to Customs Laws and regulations ensuring the correct implementation.
  5. Ensures compliance with Internal Customs yearly forecast as well as financial analysis and reports related to budget.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (International Trade, Customs Administration, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or Commercial Relations)
  • 2-4 Years Work Experience
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications
  • Experience using medical device equipment
  • Able to enter data on spread sheet and database applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele base
  • Experience maintaining ledgers and other fiscal documents
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements
  • Bilingual: English/ Spanish
