What you'd actually do

  1. Prepare and process customs entries accurately and on time
  2. Review and audit commercial documents; identify and resolve discrepancies
  3. Apply correct HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes for duty assessment
  4. Communicate documentation needs with customers and foreign origins
  5. Coordinate freight forwarding and delivery with domestic and international carriers

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
  • Basic understanding of U.S. customs operations, regulations, and government agencies
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with data entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with HTS codes or tariff classification
