Network Security Engineer
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of perimeter security services across global data centers and cloud environments. This role focuses on firewall, proxy, and zero-trust solutions, ensuring secure, reliable connectivity while proactively identifying risks and driving improvements.
You will act as a key technical resource, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives—including coordination with teams supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support perimeter security technologies, including firewalls, proxies, and zero-trust platforms across on-prem and cloud environments
- Administer and optimize solutions from key vendors such as Check Point (firewalls) and Zscaler (zero trust / proxy)
- Install, configure, and maintain network security hardware and software
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of services
- Contribute to infrastructure projects, including design, deployment, and optimization of security solutions
- Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities; propose and implement solutions
- Maintain accurate documentation (architecture diagrams, procedures, runbooks)
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, including coordination with OT security teams where network and industrial environments intersect
- Provide support for service requests and incidents, and participate in on-call rotation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on network security
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies, preferably Check Point
- Experience with secure web gateway / zero trust platforms, preferably Zscaler
- Experience designing and deploying firewall solutions in data center environments (3+ years)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or VMware NSX (2+ years)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs)
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience supporting or collaborating with OT (Operational Technology) or industrial network environments
- Experience working in global or multi-data center environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure documentation and standard operational processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with automation or scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Exposure to security frameworks and best practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Check Point, Zscaler, CCNP Security, CISSP)
