This role is for a Data Center Critical Environment Program Manager at Microsoft, responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and efficiency of mechanical and electrical equipment within data centers. It involves managing preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance, acting as an escalation point for facilities issues, and driving cost/energy efficiency projects. The role also focuses on identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and contributing to new equipment designs and technologies. It requires experience in IT equipment support or large-scale IT infrastructure deployment, with preferred qualifications in critical environment infrastructures or physical IT infrastructures.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish strong working relationships with customers.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a datacenter
  3. Manage, plan control and organize the planned preventative and corrective electrical and/or mechanical equipment.
  4. Ensure that electrical, mechanical, and/or fire/life safety equipment within the datacenter is operating at peak efficiency.
  5. Ensure compliance with infrastructure operations standardization.

Skills

Required

  • High School Qualification or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 8+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU)
  • working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures
