Manages assigned portions of the design process for data center projects, focusing on ensuring design packages meet program standards, support operational efficiency, and align with project goals, supporting hyperscale and AI workloads.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the full lifecycle of design activities for data center projects, including planning, consultant coordination, and design review
  2. Assist with the development and tracking of project design schedules and deliverables
  3. Review consultant design packages (SD, DD, IFC) for alignment with OCI standards and technical requirements
  4. Coordinate with internal teams including construction, operations, and network infrastructure
  5. Support technical due diligence for lease and greenfield opportunities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience supporting design for data centers or mission-critical facilities
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and infrastructure planning for large-scale technical buildings
  • Familiarity with design documentation phases (BOD, SD, DD, IFC) and permitting processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and CAD or BIM platforms (e.g., Revit)
  • Understanding of applicable codes, industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime), and design best practices

Nice to have

  • Experience working with colocation providers or on developer-led data center projects
  • Exposure to international projects or hyperscale cloud infrastructure requirements
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows and design management tools (e.g., ACC, Newforma)
  • LEED accreditation or familiarity with sustainable design practices
