This role focuses on energy data management, analysis, and forecasting for a data center portfolio, supporting operational and financial decision-making. It involves collecting, validating, and analyzing energy usage and cost data, partnering with external energy providers, and supporting financial processes. The role requires strong data analysis skills and experience with energy data or utility data.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the end-to-end collection, validation, and analysis of energy usage and cost data across the data center portfolio
  2. Partner with data center providers, utilities, and third-party energy partners (e.g., Arcadia) to obtain billing, interval usage, and rate data, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity
  3. Analyze historical energy usage and forecast future energy costs using third-party platforms and internal tools
  4. Support monthly accruals and close processes by providing accurate energy data and analytical insights to Finance and Accounting teams
  5. Load, reconcile, and normalize interval energy data across enterprise systems and internal data platforms
  6. Collaborate with Data Center Operations and site teams to interpret energy data in operational context and support standardized reporting and dashboards for leadership

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years experience working with energy usage, utility data, or power cost analysis
  • Strong background in data analysis, including collecting, cleaning, and interpreting large datasets
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including analytical modeling and data validation
  • Experience with forecasting, planning, or trend analysis
  • Ability to create clear, structured reporting packages for operational and financial stakeholders
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and with external partners in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting data center, hyperscale, or large-scale infrastructure operations
  • Familiarity with interval meter data, power pricing structures, and utility billing
  • Experience with data platforms, BI tools, or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Prior experience working with third-party energy management platforms (e.g., Arcadia)
