Seeking a hands-on Datacenter Facility Operation Engineer to manage daily operations, maintenance, and emergency response for critical infrastructure (Power and Cooling) in hyperscale datacenters. Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, incident response, supervising maintenance, and ensuring operational standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform routine rounds, inspections, and health checks of critical mechanical and electrical systems to identify and mitigate anomalies before they impact operations.
  2. Serve as the primary technical responder for facility incidents.
  3. Directly supervise and technically validate preventative/corrective maintenance performed by colocation partners and vendors on critical assets (Generators, UPS, Chillers, AHUs).
  4. Act as the on-site technical authority for Critical Environment Work Authorizations (CEWA) and Method of Procedures (MOPs).
  5. Support Data Hall Fit-Outs and rack energization.

Skills

Required

  • Diploma or Professional Certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining critical infrastructure in hyperscale datacenters or critical environments
  • Deep technical understanding of Power Redundancy (2N, N+1) and Cooling Redundancy (Concurrent Maintainability, N+1/N+2)
  • Practical, hands-on experience with at least three of the following: Megawatt-class Diesel Generators, Static/Rotary UPS, Medium/Low Voltage Switchgears, Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAH/AHU units, and BMS/EPMS systems
  • Ability to read and interpret complex Electrical Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Mechanical P&IDs
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and work flexible shifts as required

Nice to have

  • Possess relevant professional licenses/certifications (e.g., Registered Electrician License, HVAC Certification, or Certified Data Center Professional)
  • A high level of agility with the ability to prioritize work and stay organized in a complex, fast-paced environment with high ambiguity
  • Working knowledge of TIA-942 and ASHRAE standards for datacenter power/cooling capacity calculations
  • Strong risk assessment and decision-making capabilities to resolve critical facility uncertainties while maintaining business continuity
  • Strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detail for facility documentation and stakeholder coordination
