This role is for a Data Center Facilities Operations Technician II specializing in electrical systems. The primary focus is on supporting the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of electrical infrastructure within hyperscale data centers. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical standards, assisting with troubleshooting and incident investigations, supporting upgrades and expansions, and partnering with site operations teams. The ideal candidate has a background in facilities maintenance or technical operations and a willingness to learn about power distribution and critical infrastructure. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong safety mindset and attention to detail.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the development and maintenance of electrical standards for high-availability infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, grounding, and distribution systems.
  2. Assist with troubleshooting activities, power quality observations, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for equipment or system issues.
  3. Provide support for upgrades, retrofits, and expansions, including participation in design reviews, commissioning activities, and operational acceptance processes.
  4. Partner with site operations teams to improve maintainability, safe execution of work, and documentation quality, including procedures, one-lines, settings, and test plans.
  5. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as utilities and vendors, as needed, while learning applicable codes and standards including NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and local requirements.
