Data Center Facilities Operations Technician V – Mechanical (ic5/opx)

Oracle Oracle · Enterprise · MI

This role focuses on the operations and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems in hyperscale data centers, ensuring reliability and efficiency. It involves defining, reviewing, and improving system architectures, leading troubleshooting efforts, developing operational standards, and partnering on capacity planning and upgrades. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with mission-critical mechanical systems and a strong understanding of cooling system design, controls, and redundancy strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define, review, and improve mechanical and HVAC architectures and designs for high-availability environments, including chilled water, DX, airside systems, and redundancy strategies.
  2. Lead complex troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for high-impact or recurring mechanical and HVAC issues.
  3. Develop and maintain site or fleet-aligned standards for cooling redundancy, controls integration, equipment selection, and mechanical system performance.
  4. Partner on capacity planning, retrofits, and emerging initiatives, including liquid cooling and efficiency projects, ensuring operability and maintainability.
  5. Lead or support vendor technical reviews, commissioning acceptance criteria, and operational handover requirements.

Skills

Required
