This role is for a Data Center Manager responsible for the operational excellence of a facility, leading technicians in hardware diagnostics, repairs, and installations, and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of physical assets. It involves hands-on leadership, troubleshooting, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain critical infrastructure.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a team of data center technicians in daily operations, including server maintenance, equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
  2. Develop and implement best practices for data center operations to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.
  3. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support client projects and ensure seamless service delivery.
  4. Perform regular inspections and audits of data center equipment to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  5. Respond to and resolve technical issues and emergencies in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in data center operations
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and cooling systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with data center management tools and software
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with the Linux Operating System
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Quick decision-making ability

Nice to have

  • Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills experience
  • Computer Networking experience
  • Python, Bash or other scripting languages experience
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent
