Data Center Systems Engineer, R&d

Crusoe · Data AI · Denver, CO - US · Digital Infrastructure Group (DIG)

This role is for a Principal Systems Integration Engineer in R&D at Crusoe, an AI infrastructure company. The engineer will be responsible for defining the future of the company's data center architecture, evaluating next-generation technologies, and leading the development of system-level integration concepts from pilot-scale validation to hyperscale deployment. The role involves working at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains, scanning the industry for emerging technologies, and partnering with engineering teams to bring R&D concepts to production.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development of next-generation data center reference architectures that integrate across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains.
  2. Continuously scan the industry for emerging technologies, new vendor capabilities, and evolving standards that could impact data center architecture.
  3. Define and maintain the systems-level architecture that governs how Crusoe’s infrastructure layers interface and co-optimize.
  4. Guide emerging technologies through the full lifecycle—from initial evaluation and bench-scale testing through pilot deployment, production validation, and hyperscale rollout.
  5. Serve as the principal technical voice within the R&D organization on infrastructure architecture.

Skills

Required

  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center design, large-scale infrastructure, hyperscale computing environments, or industrial power systems.
  • A career trajectory that demonstrates increasing scope across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and optimize across multiple engineering domains simultaneously—electrical power systems, mechanical/thermal systems, compute infrastru
