This role involves hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise servers, cabling infrastructure, and network equipment within data centers. Responsibilities include hardware break/fix, rack installation, troubleshooting connectivity and network issues, and maintaining asset inventory. The role requires communication within a ticketing environment and adherence to SLAs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Hardware installation & configuration of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
  2. Hardware Break/Fix replacement of FRU's
  3. Rack installation including putting racks in place, cabling, power up and hand off of servers to internal provisioning teams.
  4. Troubleshooting and resolve Telco connectivity issues.
  5. Troubleshoot & Replace Network Switch equipment.

Skills

Required

  • Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware.
  • Strong interest in learning new DC concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience solving problems on servers, networking devices and IT equipment.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Experience taking on-call shifts
  • IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, GRUB)

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is a plus.
  • 1 year+ experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber, testing of cables, Cooling and Electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
