Data Center Technician

This role is for a Data Center Technician responsible for the technical liaison between technology teams and the Data Centre Environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and solving infrastructure issues, installing, configuring, and testing data center equipment, performing routine maintenance, replacing components, updating firmware, and maintaining parts inventory. The role requires attention to detail, experience in a Data Centre environment, participation in hardware/software installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization, basic troubleshooting, incident triaging, clear communication, adherence to processes, understanding customer problems, and delivering technical solutions. The role also involves working on a rotating shift basis, including on-call, and requires a background in Linux and knowledge of the Data Centre Ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, structured cabling).

What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and software.
  2. Execute basic troubleshooting along with triaging incoming incidents in support of DC operations.
  3. Perform routine maintenance such as replacing failed components and updating firmware.
  4. You will need to understand the support tools used to maintain data center activities and assist with maintaining an accurate parts inventory.
  5. You are able to install/assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of data centre equipment.
