Data Center Technician Manager- Night Shift

This role manages a team of technicians responsible for hardware deployment, diagnostics, and decommissioning in Microsoft's data centers. It involves leading the team, ensuring performance against KPIs and SLAs, providing training, and maintaining service compliance and quality. The role also emphasizes safety procedures and fostering a positive team culture within a cloud operations environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Delivering success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring while promoting a positive and effective team culture.
  2. Accountable for overall data center service compliance and quality.
  3. Ensures technicians are trained on procedures for installation, deployment, replacement, and post-execution quality check processes.
  4. Lead team and triage meetings, prioritizing work across your team, and rebalance priorities to respond to changes.
  5. Complete required safety training, conduct daily safety briefings, and participate in on-site safety committees.

Skills

Required

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • 1+ year(s) experience directing, supervising, or managing others
  • Ability to work shifts

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • ASICS/Invento certification
