Apprentice Data Center Technician role focused on learning and assisting with the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning of network, storage, and server equipment within Microsoft's datacenters. What you'd actually do

  1. Follow guidelines and work closely with experienced technicians to understand and comply with data center policies, procedures, and deadlines
  2. Learn to read and understand Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and assess their impact on daily operations
  3. Assist with preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning network, storage, and server equipment with minimal business disruption
  4. Complete assigned support tickets efficiently while developing familiarity with KPIs
  5. Participate actively in daily safety briefings and comply with all safety and security protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Skills

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant technical qualification (e.g., electrical, mechanical, IT, or similar discipline)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • Strong interest in IT infrastructure and datacenter technologies
  • Authorization to work in France (EU citizenship or valid residence permit with work authorization)
  • Proficiency in English with a good working level (written and spoken)

Nice to have

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar
  • Ability to perform frequent physical activity (standing, walking, lifting, working at height)
  • Strong communication skills across teams and stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours if required
