Meta is seeking a Data Engineer, Analytics to design, model, and implement data warehousing activities, optimize pipelines, and solve data integration problems. The role involves collecting and interpreting statistical data, creating frameworks for logging data, and applying technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, and data mining to inform product decisions. The ideal candidate will partner with Product and Engineering teams to represent data insights visually and drive product roadmaps.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, model, and implement data warehousing activities to deliver the data foundation that drives impact through informed decision making.
  2. Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts.
  3. Solve challenging data integration problems utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, and sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources.
  4. Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the design and development of Meta products.
  5. Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.

  • Features, design, and use-case scenarios across a big data ecosystem
  • Custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Object-oriented programming languages and querying languages, such as Python and SQL
  • Schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • MapReduce or MPP system
  • Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing, in an industry setting
  • Statistical or mathematical software
  • Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets
  • Quantitative analysis techniques, including one of the following: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
