RTX is seeking a Data Engineer in Puerto Rico to develop and manage data-driven solutions and architectures, conduct statistical analysis, and engage in data governance. The role involves turning ideas into products, optimizing factory productivity, and maintaining ETL pipelines. Requires 5+ years of experience in data engineering/analytics, SQL databases, and data cleansing, with SAP experience preferred. Experience with Snowflake, ETL processes, and Python/Pandas is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Effectively plan and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams supporting multiple key business initiatives
  2. Develop and manage data-driven solutions and architectures supporting multiple reports, tools, and systems
  3. Conduct advanced statistical analysis to yield actionable insights, identify trends, measure performance, and visualize disparate sources of data
  4. Turn ideas from proof-of-concepts to product while working with engineering teams to optimize factory productivity, customer satisfaction, and attainment of financial targets given a set of constantly changing supply constraints
  5. Engagement in data governance council to define, develop, and review standards, guidelines, and data models to promote data quality and best practices

Skills

Required

  • University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • 5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, data engineering, and/or data analytics
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Experience using MRP, ERP, and MES systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in design, implementations, and optimization in relational SQL databases
  • Experience with data cleansing, curation, mining, manipulation, and analysis from disparate systems (SQL, Python preferred)

Nice to have

  • Experience with Snowflake Streams, Stages and Snowpipes for data ingestion
  • Knowledge of Data Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes using SQL as the foundation
  • Ability to understand complex systems and processes and translate business needs to requirements
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Knowledge of database structures, modeling implementation such as third normal form
  • Experience with Python and related libraries such as Pandas for advanced data analytics
