This role focuses on shaping data strategy and management practices within a financial institution to ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and AI-ready. The Vice President will lead initiatives to modernize data practices, drive adoption of standards, and launch scalable data products and platforms, ultimately enabling trusted data for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and communicate the target‑state data strategy and convert it into actionable plans and roadmaps.
  2. Establish scope, sequencing, and prioritization for data management initiatives aligned to business value and AI readiness.
  3. Apply structured problem‑solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities and remove delivery barriers.
  4. Lead adoption of data standards, data authority at source, and operating models that improve accessibility and reuse.
  5. Develop executive‑ready presentations and narratives; synthesize complex analyses into clear recommendations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, math, engineering, data science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in data, analytics, or product roles with proven strategy execution responsibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and conceptual problem‑solving, including hypothesis‑driven analysis.
  • Experience in a management consulting firm, technology company, banking division, or internal strategy group with measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of influencing cross‑functional stakeholders and executives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and create executive‑ready materials.
  • Familiarity with AI and data management concepts, with the ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience with data management and governance practices, big data platforms, or data architecture.
  • MBA or advanced degree from a highly regarded program
