Meta is seeking a Data Science Manager, Analytics to lead a team in shaping product experiences for billions of users. The role involves using data to understand products, quantify opportunities, and influence product strategy. Responsibilities include leading data scientists, driving analytics projects, communicating insights to leadership, and defining/monitoring key product metrics. The manager will also contribute to advancing the Data Science discipline at Meta through best practices and knowledge sharing. The role requires experience with data querying and scripting languages, leading analytics teams, and a strong understanding of AI tools and ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a team of data scientists to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses, creators, and partners around the world
  2. Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions
  3. Influence product direction through clear and compelling presentations to leadership
  4. Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
  5. Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends

Skills

Required

  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Experience with statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
  • Experience initiating and completing analytical projects with minimal guidance
  • 4+ years of work experience (2+ years with a Ph.D.) in applied analytics
  • 2+ years of experience managing analytics teams
  • Experience communicating results of analysis to leadership
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience working in technology, consulting, or finance
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
