Data Science Product Manager

Product Manager for a data and analytics platform focused on Real World Data in the healthcare domain. The role involves understanding user needs, collaborating with engineering, and supporting product discovery and development. While not directly building AI models, the role requires knowledge of data science concepts, data engineering, and programming languages like Python/R, and will leverage AI tools and data analytics.

What you'd actually do

  1. Apply a structured approach to discover, document, and manage business processes, user and stakeholder needs, including opportunity statements, use cases, insights, and requirements.
  2. Gather insight into user journey, behavior, motivation, and pain points. Exposes unarticulated problems and unmet needs.
  3. Document business processes, business and user needs in the form of problem statements to make up the backlog. Facilitates the “how” with the Engineering team.
  4. Gain expertise in the business area.
  5. Leverage business and user insight to help inform solutioning ideas and prioritization decisions to deliver valuable products.

Skills

Required

  • University degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an analyst or product role

  • Knowledge of data science concepts, RESTful APIs, HTTP requests, JSON, and data exchange formats.
  • Understanding of data modeling, data engineering, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with programming in R and/or Python.
  • Experience in package management, dependency tracking, and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud automation and orchestration tools.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry or a different, highly regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in MLOps tools (Databricks, SageMaker), CI/CD practices, and monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms.
