Data Scientist, Maple - Recommender System

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · IN, KA, Bengaluru · Data Science

This role focuses on developing and deploying data-driven models for personalized shopping experiences using state-of-the-art recommendation systems and GenAI techniques. The scientist will design, develop, evaluate, and update models, create new signals, use supervised and uplift learning, design A/B tests, and work with large-scale distributed machine learning. The role also involves presenting and publishing research, mentoring junior scientists, and collaborating with business and engineering teams. Experience with causal machine learning and evaluating AI systems is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models for shopping personalization.
  2. Develop and test new signals for improving recommendation models
  3. Use supervised and uplift learning algorithms to improve customer experience
  4. Design A/B tests and conduct statistical analysis on their results
  5. Work with distributed machine learning and statistical algorithms to harness enormous volumes of data at scale to serve our customers
