Data Scientist - Vehicle Access

Rivian Rivian · Auto · Lund, Sweden · Software Engineering

Entry-level Data Scientist role focused on vehicle access data pipelines, system health, issue prediction, and personalizing the vehicle access journey. Responsibilities include data engineering, analytics, statistical analysis, and supporting pre-launch analyses.

What you'd actually do

  1. Learn and document raw vehicle access signals, building familiarity with the data landscape under the guidance of senior team members.
  2. Assist in maintaining and improving existing data pipelines that transform raw data into aggregated datasets used by product and engineering teams.
  3. Support the creation and upkeep of health-monitoring dashboards (Tableau, Hex, or Looker), ensuring data accuracy and helping validate instrumentation.
  4. Conduct exploratory data analysis on vehicle access datasets to surface early-stage insights and flag anomalies.
  5. Apply foundational statistical methods — including hypothesis testing, descriptive statistics, and confidence interval calculation — to well-defined analytical tasks.

  • 1+ years of experience in a data science, data analytics, or data engineering role (internship experience counts).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and basic manipulation.
  • Foundational programming skills in Python, including familiarity with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas or NumPy.
  • Basic understanding of statistics and probability, including descriptive statistics, sampling, and hypothesis testing concepts.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Hex, or similar) — coursework or personal projects welcome.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to teammates.
