Supabase is seeking a Database Support Engineer for their Support Team in APAC. The role involves resolving advanced customer issues related to their Postgres development platform, providing consultative advice, bridging the gap to engineering by reproducing bugs and isolating root causes, and driving product improvement through feedback. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in technical support, databases, or backend engineering, with deep PostgreSQL expertise, strong SQL and query optimization skills, and experience troubleshooting complex setups and data migrations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries.
  2. Offer proactive guidance to optimize workloads, avoid common pitfalls, and provide tailored advice to our most advanced users.
  3. Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, propose workarounds, and escalate to engineering with solid reproduction steps.
  4. Ask smart, targeted questions that turn incomplete reports into actionable cases.
  5. Communicate clearly and empathetically with users of all levels—especially during high-impact or time-sensitive situations.
