This role is for a Datacenter Operations Specialist at Microsoft, responsible for IT and logistics support for edge sites. The specialist will manage site operations, support deployments, break-fix, inventory, and asset management, and act as a primary contact for major incidents. The role requires a high school qualification or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in IT equipment support or related technology/projects in large-scale environments. Security screening is also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Working with partner teams, you will support deployment, break fix, inventory and asset management, security, and compliance to ensure seamless site operation
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with leased facility landlord(s), IT service providers, and partner support teams
  3. Responsible for deploying all physical infrastructure required to provide capacity
  4. Provide quality control for your datacenter-wide IT maintenance support activities across multiple service lines
  5. Be the primary point of contact for response to major incidents at your datacenter(s) and participating in proactive and timely resolution of such major incidents impacting MS Cloud services

Skills

Required

  • High School Qualification or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Nice to have

  • 2+ Years’ experience in a 24x7x365 production environment or related experience
  • Technical College degree or certification in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of physical Enterprise-class IT infrastructures
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects autonomously
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal awareness, and communication skills (written and verbal)
