This role is for a Data Centre Technician responsible for hands-on support of Oracle Cloud infrastructure, including rack and stack, break/fix, cabling, installations, and incident triage in a production data center environment. The role requires basic knowledge of Linux and data center ecosystem concepts like cooling and power, with a focus on maintaining operational excellence and reliability.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide onsite support in a production data center environment, including hardware break/fix, component replacement, and basic troubleshooting.
  2. Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of data center equipment (rack/stack, cabling, and deployment support).
  3. Perform routine maintenance activities such as firmware updates and health checks following established procedures.
  4. Triage and respond to incidents and service requests, escalating appropriately and documenting actions taken.
  5. Support network/structured cabling tasks (fiber/copper patching, labeling, cable management) as needed.

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of experience working in a data center environment
  • Hands-on familiarity with server hardware and basic break/fix workflows
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Understanding of the data center ecosystem: cooling, power/electrical concepts, networking basics, and structured cabling
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts in an onsite operations environment (including on-call as required)
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and process adherence
