Deal Desk Manager

Asana is seeking a Deal Desk Manager to join their finance team. This role will advise sales on deal structures and pricing, drive scalable contracting policies, monitor deal metrics, and lead system upgrades. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in deal desk or revenue-focused roles, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in CRM, CPQ, and CLM systems. Knowledge of SaaS business models and pricing strategies is required. The role is based in Chicago with a hybrid schedule. The estimated base salary range is $120,000 - $136,000.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as a trusted advisor to Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Systems, and other key teams, providing guidance on optimal pricing strategies and deal structures while maintaining clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders.
  2. Drive the creation and rollout of scalable contracting policies and processes that support both operational efficiency and company objectives.
  3. Foster a culture focused on ongoing enhancement, documenting best practices, and embedding a data-centric approach throughout the organization.
  4. Continuously monitor and evaluate deal metrics to uncover business insights and pinpoint areas for optimization.
  5. Lead the planning and implementation of system upgrades and projects that reinforce Deal Desk operations, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with broader strategic goals.

Skills

Required

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience, including substantial time in deal desk or revenue-focused roles, ideally within a technology-driven or high-growth company.
  • Skilled in drafting and negotiating software agreements, with a strong ability to evaluate discounting and other non-standard requests to make well-informed business decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of distilling complex information and presenting it clearly to audiences at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Proficient with CRM, CPQ, and CLM systems, with hands-on experience in developing ad-hoc reports and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement, capturing best practices and fostering a data-centric culture across the organization to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Knowledgeable in SaaS business models, pricing strategies, and revenue recognition practices, with an ability to leverage these insights to support the business's growth and profitability.
