This role is for a Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst at Northrop Grumman, focusing on planning and coordinating project documentation, engineering drawings, production specifications, and contract modifications to ensure customer requirements are met. The analyst will review contracts, analyze proposed changes to product design, and coordinate modification records for management control. The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience in military/configuration analysis, or 12 years of equivalent experience. A Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain SAP clearance. The role involves extensive travel and flexible work hours.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
  2. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  3. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
  4. Coordinates modification records for management control.
  5. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
  6. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Military/configuration analyst experience; OR Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant Military/configuration analyst experience. In lieu of formal education, 12 years of relevant Military/configuration analyst experience.
  • Experience with technical data and electronic technical manual change processes.
  • Willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Ability to accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
  • Ability to meet medical and vaccination requirements for worldwide travel.
  • Must have an active US Government clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Nice to have

  • Experience executing Plans Scheduling & Documentation (PS&D) or Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) functions.
  • Active US Government Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience supporting aircraft mechanical and avionics systems.
  • Experience evaluating engineering changes for implementation.
