Deployment Manager, Autonomous Vehicle Infrastructure

This role focuses on the development, design, and site readiness of charging and maintenance infrastructure for autonomous vehicles, managing projects from site identification to operational handoff. It involves real estate development, infrastructure deployment, and construction management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and manage a pipeline of potential new charging and depot sites in alignment with Uber’s AV infrastructure strategy.
  2. Lead projects from site identification and acquisition through conceptual design, permitting, utility upgrades, contractor selection, and project handoff.
  3. Lead negotiations with landlords, property owners, and public/private partners for leases, purchase agreements, and other site-related contracts.
  4. Conduct and refine comprehensive site due diligence, including zoning, utility access, permitting requirements, and financial feasibility.
  5. Partner with attorneys and internal stakeholders to draft, negotiate, and execute site agreements.

What the JD emphasized

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure deployment, real estate development, design management, construction management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end infrastructure projects, including site acquisition, design, permitting, contractor selection, and project execution.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, leases, purchase agreements, or other site-related agreements.
  • Strong understanding of permitting, utility planning, real estate development, and construction processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply AC and DC power systems, including transformers, circuit protection, and single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams.
