Northrop Grumman is seeking a Deputy System Architect (Level 5) to support the design, development, and implementation of a technical approach to expand capabilities within a Family of Systems in the DoD space security enterprise. The role requires a deep understanding of the space security enterprise, strategic planning, and integrating capabilities. Responsibilities include supporting the Chief Architect, building partnerships, serving as a technical voice, identifying technology insertion opportunities, leading expansion efforts, developing a technical roadmap, and briefing senior leaders. Requires a Top-Secret clearance and SAP approval. Experience with scripting languages and modeling tools like Python is also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Supporting the Chief Architect in growing the Family of Systems within the Space Security enterprise
  2. Being self-directed and able to envision the end state of the Family of Systems, aligned with Northrop Grumman’s strategic objectives, and support the execution of a plan meeting those objectives
  3. Building a bridge and trusted partnership between the program, the customer, and the end user community to ensure the capability delivered to the operational environment achieves mission objectives
  4. Serving as technical voice across the Systems Engineering and Ground IPTs to facilitate system-level solutions for the program
  5. Serving as a technical point of contact for the Family of Systems architecture and identifying areas and opportunities for technology insertion

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 10 years of professional experience or PhD with 8 years of professional experience
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance
  • SAP approval
  • Understanding of the DoD Space Security enterprise
  • Understanding of dynamic satellite operations
  • Experience with operating satellite systems
  • Understanding of cloud-based satellite ground systems
  • Experience in scripting languages and modeling tools (e.g. STK, Freeflyer, Python, STOL, etc)
  • Experience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders and executive level personnel

Nice to have

  • Direct, practical experience with DoD Space Security missions and the delivery of ground software or space hardware capability
  • Understanding of the interplay and relationships between various national security customers
  • Prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor
