Boeing is seeking Avionics Systems Engineers with experience in designing and maintaining electronic and electrical product details, system architecture, hardware/software designs, and interface specifications for commercial aircraft modifications. Responsibilities include designing electrical installations, producing drawings, collaborating with customers and suppliers, translating requirements, validating supplier data, leading test activities, troubleshooting, and contributing to continuous improvement. The role also involves researching emerging technologies and understanding verification, validation, certification, and qualification processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and develop electrical installations and subsystems (equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, antenna configurations) from requirements through release
  2. Produce and maintain detailed designs, drawings, and BOMs for cable and wire-harness assemblies and associated electrical hardware
  3. Collaborate and consult with customers and suppliers to refine and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements and interfaces
  4. Translate requirements into system architecture and clear hardware/software interface specifications
  5. Review and validate supplier technical data and deliverables to ensure proper system integration and compliance with requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools and/or other design methods (e.g., CAD/CAM , CATIA, Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics, ect.)
  • 3+ years of experience with equipment design, specification and tests, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g. RTCA DO-160 and DO-178C)
  • Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics box
  • 3+ years of full-time aerospace industry experience within Avionics, Electrical, Software, Cabin Systems, Inflight Entertainment Systems, Connectivity systems or Electro-Magnetic Effects
