Design Engineer

Polymarket Polymarket · Fintech · New York, NY · Design

Polymarket is seeking a Design Engineer to build and prototype highly polished, intuitive, and engaging interfaces for their prediction market platform. The role involves owning the design system, working end-to-end on the product lifecycle, and bridging design and engineering.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and prototype. Write the code behind new UI components, animations, and interactions that elevate the product experience. Push for best practices in front-end development and performance at every step.
  2. Own the design system. Drive consistency, accessibility, and performance across all of Polymarket's product surfaces by contributing to and evolving our design system.
  3. Work end-to-end. Take ownership across the full product lifecycle, from early ideation through implementation and iteration, with a strong point of view at every stage.
  4. Bridge design and engineering. Partner tightly with designers and engineers to define and implement experiences where the final product actually matches the vision and sometimes exceeds it.
  5. Stay ahead. Keep up with emerging web technologies, interaction patterns, and design trends, and bring the best of what you find back to Polymarket.

  • Experience working with Figma, design tokens, and design systems to close the gap between design intent and production reality
  • An eye for detail that borders on obsessive. You notice things other people miss and you care about fixing them
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate design and technical decisions clearly
