Design Industrialization Engineer - Thermal

This role focuses on the industrialization of electric vehicle powertrains, ensuring alignment between engineering, supply chain, and suppliers. The engineer will oversee part designs, specification development, supplier capabilities, quality plans, and manufacturing processes to achieve low-cost, high-volume production. Experience with thermal components is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own processes, communication, and documentation from sourcing through to the transition to high volume production with new and existing suppliers
  2. Responsible owner for supplier site, quality plan, manufacturing process and quality of resultant part output
  3. Develop balanced specifications for successful RFQ's using reliability goals and FMEA's
  4. Evaluate supplier capabilities using Product DFM & Process DFM tools
  5. Define supplier quality goals during DFM negotiations and prototype phases for pre-production activities

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in Design Industrialization Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Proven experience in vehicle launch from prototype phase through mass production
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience with thermal components (battery cooling, HVAC, heat management)

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience with hardware development from concept through production launch in automotive or similar
