Design Manager for Okta's brand and marketing websites, focusing on bringing the brand and marketing to life, ideating, conceptualizing, and problem-solving against key marketing briefs. The role involves managing a team of designers and partnering with cross-functional teams. While the company is heavily involved in AI infrastructure and the role requires experience with AI tools in the creative process, the core function is design management for marketing assets, not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work closely with the Digital Creative Director, designers, and copywriters on conceptual development, design and execution across key marketing briefs for digital experiences on okta.com.
  2. Develop creative ideas that meet project KPIs; test and iterate when necessary.
  3. Manager and mentor three Sr. Designers, encouraging their own personal growth and development. Uplevel the design team by providing dedicated one on one support, particularly for more junior designers.
  4. Partner with the Copy Manager to lead brainstorm sessions and project critiques. Work cross functionally with key marketing leads, digital partners, and the Studio to present creative concepts and solutions against briefs.
  5. Must be able to sell ideas confidently, a strong storyteller and presenter to get buy-in from cross functional partners and executives.

Skills

Required

  • BA or BFA in Art/Design
  • Extraordinary design skills
  • A World-class portfolio of work
  • Outstanding presentation skills and proven ability to produce and pitch world-class strategic presentations to all levels of an organization
  • 8+ years experience in art direction and design in a creative agency or client-side group
  • 3+ years experience leading and managing a team in a creative agency or internal creative group
  • 5+ years experience in marketing work with a rich portfolio including digital, print, interactive, website/mobile design and video
  • Hands-on expertise in developing creative solutions and campaigns across all mediums: advertising, film, websites, mobile and graphic design, Corporate ID, interactive, social campaigns, content marketing and events
  • Expert knowledge of creative process and digital creative software tools (Figma, Adobe CC, Framer)
  • Experience implementing AI tools with the creative process and prompting for creative output
