Senior Designer for Abound & Leith brands at Nordstrom Rack, responsible for leading design, conceptualizing, sketching, and executing item assortments that align with brand ethos and current fashion trends for young and trend customers. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to bring brand vision to life in seasonal deliveries. Manages design calendar and workload, and inspires a design team.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conceptualize, accurately sketch and execute ideas that represent target customers
  2. Design original and commercially viable product.
  3. Bring seasonal assortments to life with thoughtful application of color and print across new, core, and carryover styles.
  4. Act as fashion authority by researching and analyzing the market with a focus on the young & trend customer lifestyle trends, needs and end uses.
  5. Manage calendar and workload across design team to ensure all milestones and due dates are met.

Skills

Required

  • Strong ability to sketch
  • Strong understanding of industry and trends in young adult & trend womenswear
  • Ability to handle high volume of styles
  • Ability to think strategically and deliver the right level of detail appropriate to the audience
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe CS.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skill, and ability to work independently or as a team

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in design industry and 2+ years of experience managing a design team, preferred
