Developer Advocacy Intern

Twilio is seeking a Developer Advocacy Intern to join their team. The intern will help grow the developer community by engaging online, creating content and videos, and assisting with event planning. This role requires current enrollment in a 4-year degree program, some coding experience, curiosity about AI tools, and strong communication skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Engage with developers in online spaces - answering questions, joining conversations, and meeting them where they already hang out.
  2. Create engaging content including a blog post and video to make technical topics clear and inviting for Twilio builders.
  3. Plan and assist running in-person events, getting hands-on with real-world developer gatherings.
  4. Collaborate with different teams at Twilio to align on goals and developer engagement.
  5. Practice communicating plans and sharing updates with teammates and stakeholders, building skills across the advocacy process.

Skills

Required

  • Currently pursuing 4-year degree
  • Some experience coding in one or more languages (such as Python, JavaScript/Node, Java, or similar) and an interest in web frameworks.
  • Curiosity about AI tools, technologies, and the developer community.
  • Strong communication skills, with an interest in writing, video, or public speaking.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and value creative problem-solving.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Twilio or similar developer platforms.
  • Interest in the developer community or community events.
  • Open to learning about event planning, content creation, or community engagement.
  • Experience with class projects, clubs, or organizing events is a plus, but not required.
  • Excitement about teaching and helping others learn new technology.
