Developer Platform Investigator

Investigate complex cases of abuse on Meta's platforms, identify enforcement strategies, document findings, and conduct research to develop strategies to prevent and disrupt threats at scale, particularly impacting API products. Requires experience in threat investigations, proactive investigations, open source investigations, and working with sensitive data. Familiarity with modern technical scaling and AI tools, including LLMs and data analytics programming languages, is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Investigate complex cases using a variety of methodologies (on and off platform) to understand how abuse occurs and identify the person(s) responsible.
  2. Identify enforcement strategies to mitigate harm in the current case and from similar abuse.
  3. Document findings in high quality and concise investigative reports while managing sensitive or confidential data.
  4. Conduct research to identify broader patterns of abuse and develop strategies to prevent and disrupt threats, at scale, that can impact our API products.
  5. Manage, coordinate, and/or support projects to improve investigative or business processes as needed.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
  • Threat investigations
  • law enforcement investigations or intelligence
  • proactive investigations that did not originate from an automated alert
  • Conducting open source investigations or investigations on behalf of a technology company
  • Data misuse, APIs, privacy, 3rd party risk management, or mobile apps
  • Working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and adult content
  • Drafting analytical reports and documenting technical and non-technical evidence and findings
  • Modern technical scaling and automation/AI tools including, but not limited to, large language models (LLMs)
  • SQL or other data analytics programming language
  • Using analysis tools similar to Maltego or Tableau
