What you'd actually do

  1. Attend or facilitate conferences and events to gain and share insights on user experience and technologies.
  2. Work with top game developers and game engines in the Americas region to support exciting new product integrations on flagship Pixel devices.
  3. Optimize AA/AAA game titles, resolve engineering problems with Google technologies, and scale the knowledge to improve the overall gaming ecosystem.
  4. Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations (PR), and other cross-functional teams.
  5. Drive regular, engineering-focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize the gaming experience and resolve technical problems at a scale of millions of users.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.).
  • 2 years of experience in game development based on unity, unreal or C/C++/C# custom game engines.

Nice to have

  • 3 years of experience as a technical practitioner in a developer community.
  • Experience in scripting and tooling within the Android development environment, utilizing RenderDoc, Perfetto, Frame Pacing API, SurfaceFlinger, GFXReconstruct, and Android GPU Inspector.
  • Experience working with Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Engineering (QE) teams for device hardware and OS/software production.
  • Knowledge of GPU pipeline such as OpenGL ES, Vulkan, Metal, or DirectX.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
