Boeing is seeking Developmental & Test Mechanics to assist engineering, experimental, and test groups in developing parts, production methods, and procedures. Responsibilities include fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic systems, assembling instrumentation probes, and developing methods for pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical tests. The role requires extensive experience with blueprints, hand tools, precision measurement tools, sheet metal assemblies, and aircraft maintenance/structural repair.

What you'd actually do

  1. Employees will fabricate, install, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, hardware and equipment
  2. Employees will fabricate and assemble instrumentation probes for engineering projects and testing
  3. Employees may travel to our plant locations to perform testing
  4. Employees will have exposure to moving parts and machinery, tight places, heights, high voltage electricity, high-pressure air, steam, hydraulics, and explosive ordinance
  5. Employees will receive personal safety gear for face/eye, respiration, ears and feet

Skills

Required

  • reading and working from blueprints, sketches and plans

What the JD emphasized

  • 5+ year of experience reading and working from blueprints, sketches and plans
  • 5+ year of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
  • 5+ year of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.
  • 5+ year of experience with sheet metal assemblies, drilling, countersinking, riveting, and fastener installation
  • 5+ years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance/Aircraft Structural Repair
