Devops Engineering Manager

Gong is seeking a DevOps Engineering Manager to lead and scale a new DevOps team in Dublin. The role involves managing engineers, overseeing cloud infrastructure (AWS), driving CI/CD and monitoring practices, and collaborating with global R&D, Security, and IT teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing systems. The manager will also shape the company's cloud strategy and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Hire, Lead, mentor, and grow a small but high-impact DevOps engineering team in Dublin.
  2. Oversee the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of secured, scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS).
  3. Drive the design and implementation of best Operational, Reliable and secure practices and tooling for CI/CD and monitoring.
  4. Automation & Streamlining: Help automate and streamline our operations and processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with all major stakeholders in the company, including R&D, Security, Product, and more, to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.

What the JD emphasized

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering roles, with at least 3 years managing engineers.
  • Proven track record of building and operating scalable cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code and GitOps methodologies
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Extensive experience with running Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools
