Devops Platform Engineer

Unity Unity · Enterprise · Tel Aviv, Israel · Engineering

Platform Engineer role focused on streamlining development processes, standardizing best practices, and building internal tools and platforms for R&D organization. This includes AI-assisted capabilities in development tooling and CI/CD pipelines, as well as engineering cloud infrastructure and CI/CD workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Enable Developer Productivity: Partner with cross-functional R&D teams to understand their pain points and build internal platforms, self-service templates, and developer tooling — including AI-assisted capabilities — that remove bottlenecks and let engineers ship product instead of fighting infrastructure. Your work will directly shape how engineers move fast and independently across the organization.
  2. Deliver Reliable Development & Testing Environments: Build and maintain robust, automated, high-performance environments that developers trust and rely on daily — reducing friction, eliminating downtime, and accelerating iteration cycles for dev and data teams.
  3. Engineer Cloud Infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage cloud resources and Kubernetes clusters using industry-leading IaC tools such as Pulumi (preferred), Terraform, or similar — ensuring our foundation is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient from day one.
  4. Empower CI/CD & Delivery Workflows: Design and maintain CI/CD platforms and self-service capabilities that let development teams independently build, test, monitor, and deploy their applications. Integrate AI-driven capabilities into pipelines so teams can own their delivery end-to-end.
  5. Drive Governance & Cost Control: Build and maintain tooling for infrastructure governance, cost visibility, and policy enforcement — giving R&D teams guardrails that enable autonomy while maintaining organizational standards and budget transparency.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Strong background in programming skills (Python, Typescript, etc.).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, troubleshooting) and container orchestration in production environments.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools - Pulumi (preferred), Terraform, or similar.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including networking, IAM, and cost management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)

Nice to have

  • Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, or developer experience improvements is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, coding agents, or integrating AI-driven tools into engineering workflows is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A builder's mindset
