Dft Automation and Validation Engineer

This role focuses on developing and maintaining validation testing environments and tooling for CPU core DFT (Design for Test) validation. Key responsibilities include automation, scripting, debug tools, and improving team AI skills to support validation engineers. The role requires strong programming skills in TCL, Python, and/or Perl, and experience in pre-silicon validation or CAD/tool automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain the validation testing environment and tooling for the P-CORE DFT Validation team.
  2. Support validation team with automation, scripts, debug tools, and environment
  3. Automate repetitive tasks and streamline the debug process used by validation engineers on the team.
  4. Interface with CAD, EDA vendors, and IT to resolve tool and infrastructure issues
  5. Develop and validate the tools for collateral and spec generation provided to our external customers.
  6. Improve and develop team-owned AI skills to support the validation team in their work.

Skills

Required

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in pre silicon validation and/or CAD/tool automation
  • Experience in automation or CAD support for validation
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in TCL, Python, and/or Perl
  • Experience with validation languages and environments (eg. Specman)
  • Experience with HDL languages (eg. Verilog)
  • Familiarity with version control (eg. Git)
  • Familiarity with Linux shell environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Debugging ability
  • Creativity

Nice to have

  • Experience with Synopsys/Verdi and/or Tessent EDA specs (ICL, PDL) and tool environments
  • Experience in working with agentic ai (skills, agents, Github CLI etc.)
